2022 Saloon Stock Car National Series
Last Updated by Admin 03 August 2022 17:07
The contenders for this year’s Saloon Stock Car National Series, the contest for the silver roof, will be determined by the September grading list.
The top 10 drivers from the points chart, including all points scored up to and including 20 August 2022, will automatically become part of the 2022 National Series
There will be no seeding of drivers to the National Series based on previous achievements or championship titles held. Qualification for the National Series will be based purely on commitment and points scoring through the season.
There is no requirement to race at a minimum number of meetings, either to qualify for the National Series or within the National Series itself.

Grading
As in previous years, all National Series drivers will form their own grade and start at the rear of the field in every race, in reverse National Series points order.
Any current Saloon Stock Car champions who have not qualified for the National Series will start from a champions’ grade in front of the National Series grade.
Points Scoring
A separate National Series points table will be maintained solely for the 10 National Series drivers, with all drivers starting on zero points.
National Series points will be scored at all six National Series rounds. Double points for the two shale rounds (Kings Lynn and Mildenhall). Double points will be scored at the National Series finale at Ipswich on 5 November.
Additionally, five attendance points will be awarded for each National Series round a driver competes in.
All drivers, across all grades, including the 10 National Series qualifiers, will continue to score national points, as normal, for grading and track championship purposes at ALL meetings until the conclusion of the season.
The driver with the most National Series points at the end of the six rounds will be declared the 2022 National Series champion and earn the right to carry the silver roof for the 2023 season.
Driver Remuneration
Provided a driver has raced at every National Series round they will receive £360 Start Money (£60 per round). This will be paid by cheque as per usual within a week of the Series Finale.
Should a driver miss one round they will lose half of their start monies and will be paid £150 (£30 per round) at the end of the series.
If a driver misses more than one round they will just receive normal Start Monies that they would have been entitled to. This will be paid at the end of the series.
In addition to the Start Monies the following Prize Monies will also be paid to the top five in the series;
National Series Champion: £1000
Runner Up : £750
Third Place : £500
Fourth Place : £350
Fifth Place : £200
Sixth Place : £100
Drivers will receive full prize monies even if they miss a round.
